June 2015 - Birthdays!!

We get to celebrate TWO birthday boys in our family in June!

We started out the celebrations with a family dinner at Grandma Deb and Papa's house.
Sam was THRILLED to receive the ENTIRE Series 5 of his beloved Lego Mixels!

Dad got a chocolate cake! (And some spending money!)

Sam is NOT a cake-guy...he's more of a brownie-guy!
(But we learned last year that he doesn't tolerate b-day candles in his brownies! The candles contaminate the brownies and then he won't eat them. We still sang the birthday song to him and he "pretended" there were candles. :)

Dad's "real" birthday was up first!

I asked him what he wanted for his special birthday breakfast and he wanted Cinnamon Cake!
(He was kind of joking, but kind of NOT joking....so I really made him cake for his breakfast!)
No one complained! :)

We surprised him with a nice indoor basketball and a University of Utah sticker for his car.

So silly!

Sam's birthday was just a few short days later.
I was so excited to give him this Dory stuffed animal! (And to think, only 365 days until "Finding Dory" comes out!) Yes, we're THAT excited!
Sam got another Lego Mixel! This time the Mixel was from Series 1!
Back when the Lego Mixels first came out in the stores we had no idea how much Sam would LOVE them! There were a few from Series 1 that we never bought and they were "retired" so quickly. I had to watch eBay for quite some time to find this Mixel for Sam...but it was worth it!

The proof is in the smile! :)

Grandma Deb took us all out to lunch at "America's Favorite Restaurant" (according to Sam, that is). He had his "usual" ( = Happy Meal).

We had a free afternoon for Sam to pick something to do with just me and his siblings. He picked to go to the Clark Planetarium....one of his "happy places!"
Of course, he had to spend the majority of his visit watching "Newton's Dream"....but we know to expect that by now!

We also had fun playing around in the moon exhibit...
 ...and the Mars exhibit!
(I've trained them well....their dramatic posing skills are awesome!)

We definitely had another awesome June birthday "season." It's hard to believe that Sam is already 12 and that Matt only has one year left of his thirties! Crazy!
