Hoe Down Y'all!

Sam's kindergarten class had a Hoe Down program to end their successful first year of elementary school. His teacher, and the teacher of the other 2 classes, worked for weeks to teach the kids cowboy songs, line dancing, and cowboy jokes. I was shocked to find out that Sam was actually really "into" the whole idea of performing all of these new talents! He had quite the fan club there (me, Matt, Tyler, Lilly, and both grandmas) to support him and cheer him on! He did a great job showing off his SKILLZ and seemed to really have a genuine good time. The only thing that seemed to bother him was the loud applause after each song (which he covered his ears for) and any high notes in the songs, but other than that he did great. It turned into a somewhat emotional experience for me (and the rest of the adult members of the fan club) to see him get up there with the rest of his peers and participate, do (some of) the actions, and "sing" (some of) the words of the songs. He really has come a LLLLOOONNNNGGGG way! We are so proud of him!

Shake those hips!

Tyler just HAD to dress up in his cowboy outfit too...classic, jealous little brother! :)
