After we had spent a few days at Disneyland, we finished our vacation on a high note and went to visit Jason, Verity, Rhiannon, and Wade! We feel sad that we don't get to see them nearly enough, since they live in the middle of nowhere (kidding!), so we were happy to make the small detour to Ridgecrest!

The cousins started playing immediately after Wade and Rhiannon got home from school. It was fun to watch them run around and keep themselves entertained while Verity, Matt and I chatted and got caught up. The kids had a "cousin sleepover" in Rhiannon's room that night and they had a blast. (Note: Sam is "pretending" to be asleep in the picture above.)

The next day we took it easy for most of the morning....it was so nice to just hang out, especially since Jason was home from his business trip. Later in the afternoon we braved the wind and went to the playground.

Sam wore that Batman mask the entire time...and LOVED the large amount of sand to play in!

Matty was really getting into the kids' pretend scenarios. He was very courageous to ride that giant turtle....good thing he had the light saber to protect himself!

The ladies (no, we didn't plan the coordinating blue shirts!) enjoying quality time!

I absolutely LOVE this picture of Rhiannon. She looks like a super model (especially with her hair blowing in the breeze like that)!!!!

I love simple fun. We didn't need any amusement park to keep us busy....we had fun just talking, playing, and enjoying each other's company.

This is their tortoise "Toby"....who was fascinating to watch! He looks totally fake until he starts crawling around his little rubbermaid bin. I got to feed him some romaine lettuce for his lunch....yum!

After a delicious pizza dinner, we all got dressed up in our costumes for J & V's stake trunk-or-treat! The kids (Tyler the dragon, Wade the "home boy," Rhiannon as Maid Marian, and Sam the ninja) had a blast getting decked out and showing off their costumes to each other. :)

Verity was kind enough to let Matt and I borrow something to wear. I love that Matt's mustache looks like it's coming out of one nostril. And if you can't tell, the wig I'm wearing is a mullet! Sah-weet!

Verity's wig looked like a dead animal on her head....yeah baby!

This is the closest thing to getting a picture of Jason....he's the torso on the left with the Hulk fists as his costume. :) The boys had a great time at the trunk-or-treat with their cousins and gathered plenty of candy too! Unfortunately, we had to leave to start driving to St. George right after....so our visit to Ridgecrest was short-lived. Booooo. Lucky for us, Jason's family is coming up to SLC for Christmas!!!!!....so we didn't feel too bad about our short trip.
Thanks to J, V, R, and W for your hospitality, yummy food, great chats, fun at the park, and all around good times! We'll see you in a month!!!

Nice mullet--you should think about one full time. Rhiannon is the craziest mixture of Verity and Deb!!!
I love the new look you and Verity were sporting for the evening. It looks like the kids had a great time.
Yeah, baby! That visit was a BLAST! We were so excited and happy to have you come. See you in a just a few WEEKS! Love ya!!!
